Are you interested in volunteering as a mentor to your younger peers? As part of Better Together, we are hosting an opportunity to create connections with students at Thunderbird Elementary School and wək̓ʷan̓əs tə syaqʷəm through penpals. Our goal is to initiate a positive impact in the neighborhood. As the transition from elementary to highschool may be difficult, volunteers will be able to express their leadership and guidance to new highschool students with tips they may have found from their highschool experience. Volunteers will be able to establish connections with their community and meet new people. Additionally, it may provide them with a chance to gain new insight or perspective in the community they may have not previously considered. When creating penpals, they will be able to express their creativity and imagination through their letters and decorations. With a little sacrifice of their time, they can make even the tiniest gesture brighten someone else's day with smiles and laughter.
